Wāwāmalu.
In celebration of World Ocean Day, AVVA was proud to partner with Sustainable Coastlines Hawaiʻi, Parley TV, and Sandy Beach Surf Report for our annual Mālama Wāwāmalu community restoration event.

Community members from across Oʻahu came together to lend a helping hand, with volunteers of all ages showing up to make a difference. Throughout the day, participants worked side by side removing invasive species, cleaning our coastline, and helping restore native Hawaiian plants by distributing compost to support their growth through the summer months.
Together, we removed hundreds of pounds of trash from the area while creating meaningful connections through shared stories, laughter, and a collective commitment to caring for the places we love most. With live music, good food, and plenty of aloha, the energy throughout the day was truly special.

Mālama Wāwāmalu continues to be a reminder that the shoreline is ours to protect. This year's event was a tremendous success, and we are deeply grateful to our volunteers, partners, and supporters who helped make it all possible.
